Portugal's PSI 20 closed at 9,476.73 points on Friday, November 6, down 0.07% from the previous session's 9,483.21 points. The index opened at 9,368.05 points and recovered during the Lisbon session, according to Investing.com. The close was reported at 13:35:59 on the data page, corresponding to 14:35:59 in Berlin.

Sector losses offset selected gains

Investing.com, citing Reuters, said losses in telecoms, consumer services and financials pushed the Lisbon market lower. Declining stocks outnumbered advancing issues by 16 to 11, with four components unchanged.

EDP Renovaveis was the strongest performer, rising 5.84% to 14.49 euros. Mota Engil gained 1.49% to 4.51 euros and Altri added 0.96% to 4.22 euros. On the downside, Galp Energia fell 3.15% to 19.08 euros, Sonae declined 2.20% to 2.23 euros and NOS lost 1.54% to 5.44 euros.

European risk appetite remains fragile

The wider European backdrop was also weak. Diario do Grande ABC, reporting information from Dow Jones Newswires, described investor concern about the outlook for artificial intelligence and data-center spending after a sharp technology-led selloff. The report also pointed to renewed debate over possible interest-rate increases by the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England.

Friday's PSI 20 performance therefore reflected a mixed session rather than a broad-based advance: the index recovered from its early weakness, but losses among several large constituents kept the benchmark just below Thursday's close. The move leaves the index's immediate direction sensitive to global technology sentiment, interest-rate expectations and company-specific developments in Lisbon.
