OMXS30 rises 1.2 percent as Investor leads at midday

The OMXS30 was trading at 3,296 points at 12:43 p.m. CEST on October 16, up 40 points or 1.2 percent from Thursday's close. The index recovered as global markets rebounded after the previous session's decline, Placera reported.

Investor rose 1.9 percent after reporting a higher net asset value. Avanza fell 4.3 percent after its quarterly results came in below expectations, Placera reported.

Why is the OMXS30 higher at midday?

Investor's adjusted net asset value reached 411 kronor per share, up from 397 kronor at the end of the second quarter. Its quarterly total return was 1 percent, compared with 2 percent for the SIXRX return index.

The broader rebound followed Thursday's 0.62 percent decline. The OMXS30 had closed at 3,256.08 points on October 15, Investing.com showed.

Investor and Avanza set the stock tone

Investor provided support after its results and its purchase of EQT shares from Wallenberg Investments. Avanza moved in the opposite direction after its operating result was broadly in line with expectations, but the overall report fell short.

Nordea was up 0.8 percent after Arctic Securities raised its recommendation to buy from hold. The stock had fallen sharply on Thursday after the bank paused its share repurchase program.
