The OMXS30 ended Monday's session higher after reversing an early decline. The Swedish blue-chip index closed at 3,287.02 on November 2, 2026, up 0.48 percent from the previous close of 3,271.40. The closing level and the 17:30 CET market timestamp were reported by Nasdaq, while Nasdaq Nordic later published 3,287.02 as the definitive value for OMXS30 daily options expiring on November 2.
Early losses give way to recovery
Stockholm trading initially reflected the sharp decline on US markets at the end of the previous week. The OMXS30 was down about 0.7 percent early in the session and remained below its previous close around midday. The index then recovered during the afternoon and finished near its daily high, according to Placera.
Materials lead as energy lags
Basic materials were the strongest major sector, rising 1.76 percent, while energy was the weakest, falling 4.24 percent. The sector pattern coincided with a sharp decline in oil prices, which supported the broader recovery in European equities but weighed on energy-related shares. The session's move therefore reflected a rotation within the market rather than a uniformly strong advance across all sectors.
Stock-specific moves remain mixed
EQT rose 3.24 percent and Boliden gained 3.22 percent, making them two of the best performers among OMXS30 constituents. Epiroc also advanced 3.13 percent. On the weaker side, Saab fell 3.10 percent, Nordea declined 1.06 percent and Telia lost 0.99 percent. Across the full Stockholm Stock Exchange, declining shares outnumbered advancing shares, with 396 decliners, 336 gainers and 71 unchanged stocks, according to Investing.com.
For investors, the close shows that the OMXS30 was able to absorb the weak opening and benefit from changing commodity and European-market signals. The positive index result nevertheless masked a mixed breadth picture and a clear divergence between materials and energy. Further direction will depend on whether the recovery in global risk sentiment persists and how investors reassess Swedish large-cap earnings and sector exposures.
