- Redcare Pharmacy, Tui and Fraport were among the strongest MDAX performers, while Hella, Hensoldt and Fuchs preferred shares fell.
The MDAX recovered strongly on Monday, November 2, 2026, after the sell-off at the end of the previous week. The German mid-cap index gained 1.26% and closed at 30,855.37 points. The closing level and percentage change were reported by dpa via Yahoo Finance.
Oil prices ease market pressure
Investor sentiment benefited from a sharp decline in oil prices. According to dpa's European market report, hopes that diplomatic efforts involving Iranian officials and Qatari mediators could ease Middle East tensions reduced concerns about energy supply. Brent crude fell more than 7.5% during the session.
The market also looked ahead to Apple's quarterly results after the US close and the US midterm elections on Tuesday. Those events kept investors cautious even as European equities broadly advanced. The MDAX, which tracks 50 German mid-cap stocks, outperformed the DAX on the day.
Travel and technology shares lead
Travel-related shares benefited from the more favourable energy outlook. Tui gained 5.94% and Fraport rose 4.31%, while Redcare Pharmacy climbed 9.05% to lead the MDAX gainers, according to Investing.com. The advance was part of a broader recovery in technology, consumer and cyclical, and industrial shares.
Not every constituent participated in the rebound. Hella declined 2.44%, Hensoldt lost 2.29% and Fuchs preferred shares fell 1.54%, making them the weakest performers listed in the closing market overview.
Recovery remains event-driven
Monday's move restored part of the ground lost in the previous session, but the combination of energy-market developments, geopolitical headlines and major corporate and political events leaves the index sensitive to new information. For investors, the session showed renewed demand for cyclical and travel exposure, while the divergent performance among constituents underlined the importance of company-specific factors.
