Jenner Testnet Upgrade Puts BNB Price in Focus

The BNB price is in focus after BNB Chain activated the Jenner upgrade on its testnet. The network reported stronger revenue but fewer daily active addresses in the third quarter.

BNB upgrade meets mixed metrics

  • BNB Chain activated the Jenner hard fork on its BSC testnet on October 28, adding a payment lane, CAS20 support and millisecond timestamps.
  • TokenPost reported third-quarter network revenue of 54.2 million USD, while daily active addresses fell 14 percent to 2.10 million.
  • Investing.com showed BNB at 749.80 USD when its page was read on October 30, with a displayed change of plus 2.11 percent.

BNB Chain has activated the Jenner hard fork on its BNB Smart Chain testnet, giving the BNB price a new protocol development to assess. The rollout took place on October 28, while a mainnet date has not been announced.

TokenPost reported that Jenner reserves 5 percent of each block's gas capacity by default for eligible payment transactions. The upgrade also adds access to millisecond-level block timestamps for smart contracts and introduces CAS20, a standard for compliant assets. TokenPost noted that the Payment Lane and CAS20 require governance approval before full enablement.

Testnet progress, not mainnet adoption

For investors, the distinction between a testnet activation and a live mainnet feature is material. Jenner demonstrates that the relevant code is being tested, but it does not yet show that payment applications or compliant tokenized assets are using the features in production. The timing of a mainnet launch remains open.

Revenue rises as activity diverges

BNB Chain's operating indicators present a mixed picture. In a separate TokenPost report, third-quarter network revenue was reported at 54.2 million USD, up 54 percent from the prior quarter. Transaction fees contributed 49.1 million USD and maximal extractable value payments added 5.1 million USD.

The network processed 1.51 billion transactions, an increase of 7.5 percent from the second quarter, while average daily active addresses declined 14 percent to 2.10 million. Tokenized-stock trading reached 25.6 billion USD during the quarter. The figures suggest higher monetization and heavier activity among existing users, but they do not establish broad-based user growth.

Supply reduction remains a secondary factor

TokenPost also reported that BNB Chain completed its 37th quarterly burn on October 19, removing about 1.646 million BNB. The same report said approximately 131.51 million BNB remained in supply after the burn. The reduction supports the token's long-term supply policy, but its effect on the BNB price depends on demand as well as issuance and usage trends.

Current market reference

The Investing.com BNB page showed 749.80 USD when read on October 30, 2026, with a displayed change of plus 2.11 percent and a 24-hour volume of 1.34 billion USD. The page did not provide a verifiable UTC day-close comparison in the retrieved view, so the displayed percentage should not be treated as a calculated change against the October 30 UTC close. The BNB price therefore remains best assessed alongside the testnet-to-mainnet execution risk and the mixed network activity data.
