Why did the IDX Composite rise after the rate decision?
The central bank's decision matched the expectation of 15 economists in a Reuters poll. Bank Indonesia also kept the lending facility at 6.50 percent and raised the deposit facility by 25 basis points.
The move followed emergency market measures linked to MSCI's concerns about ownership transparency. The Indonesia Stock Exchange plans to exclude companies with highly concentrated ownership from the benchmark and expand disclosures for shareholders holding at least 1 percent, The Star reported.
