IDX Composite gains 1.0 percent as retail sales revive

IDX Composite closed at 6,093.76 points on October 9, 2026, gaining 1.04 percent as stronger Indonesian retail-sales data supported a broad recovery. CNBC Indonesia reported that the index opened at 6,039.01, fell to 5,995.82 and reached 6,100.58 before ending near the session high.
The rebound followed Bank Indonesia data showing August retail sales rose 1.3 percent from a year earlier and 0.8 percent from July. ANTARA News said food, beverages and tobacco sales increased 2.6 percent year over year, while automotive parts and accessories rose 3.9 percent.
Basic materials and industrials lead the recovery
Ten of the 11 IDX sector indexes advanced. Basic materials gained 1.67 percent, industrials rose 1.51 percent and infrastructure increased 1.15 percent. Property fell 0.16 percent, the only sector to finish lower, according to Kompas.com.
Market breadth also improved: 407 stocks rose, 245 fell and 311 were unchanged. Among LQ45 constituents, Indika Energy gained 6.08 percent, Hartadinata Abadi rose 4.81 percent and Amman Mineral Internasional advanced 4.01 percent. PGN lost 1.39 percent, Medco Energi declined 1.04 percent and Indosat fell 0.93 percent, Kontan reported.
