IDX Composite ends 1.9 percent lower as hawkish Fed minutes weigh

CNBC Indonesia reported that the index fell 115.44 points to its session low and closing level, while Kompas recorded the session range from 6,031 to 6,179 points.
The main pressure came from expectations that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates again in 2026. Media Indonesia also cited geopolitical tensions, higher oil prices and rising bond yields as factors weighing on risk sentiment.
Industry and energy led sector losses
Industry fell 2.9 percent, energy dropped 2.8 percent and infrastructure declined 2.6 percent, according to IDXChannel. Nine of 11 sectors closed lower, while health care was among the sectors that gained.
Market breadth confirmed the selling pressure: 518 stocks declined, 187 advanced and 258 were unchanged. Okezone Economy reported the breadth figures and noted that most sector indexes ended lower.

The next Indonesian trading session is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026. Market participants will continue to assess the effect of Federal Reserve policy expectations, oil prices and global bond yields on Indonesian equities.
