Ethereum (ETH) has a scheduled 200 million gas test on October 26, 2026, when the Glamsterdam upgrade is set to activate on the Hoodi testnet, according to CryptoSlate. Hoodi test targets 200 million gas
Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade is scheduled for Hoodi on October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC, according to CryptoSlate. Hoodi is a test network, so the scheduled activation is separate from an Ethereum mainnet launch. The planned 200 million gas target concerns the amount of computation that can fit into a block. The upgrade also includes node software changes for testnet operators, while the mainnet activation date remains undecided, the report said.
Ethereum developers previously activated Glamsterdam on the Sepolia testnet on October 6, 2026. The next Hoodi milestone gives developers another environment for testing changes to block construction and network capacity before any mainnet decision.
October fund withdrawals reach 320.1 million USD
U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds, which hold the cryptocurrency directly, recorded 320.1 million USD in net withdrawals from October 12 through October 16, 2026, according to Crypto.news. The products ended four of the five sessions with negative flows, while BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust accounted for nearly 299 million USD of the weekly withdrawals.
The same report said the October 12 through October 16 period marked a third consecutive week of net withdrawals for U.S. spot Ethereum funds. ETF flows measure subscriptions and redemptions in the funds and do not establish that the same amount of ETH was sold on cryptocurrency exchanges.
