FTSE China A50 closed at 13,516 points on October 14, losing 318 points or 2.3 percent. The decline followed a selloff in artificial intelligence supply-chain shares.
China's September exports rose 36.3 percent year over year, beating the 25.5 percent forecast, while imports climbed 31 percent against expectations of 24.5 percent, CNBC reported.
Why is FTSE China A50 down today?
Technology shares weakened despite the strong trade figures. The 5G communications index fell 3.8 percent, while the broader technology selloff pushed the CSI 300 down 1.4 percent, Newsweek Japan reported.
Higher producer prices also complicated the picture. September producer inflation reached 5.0 percent, above the 4.5 percent forecast, while consumer inflation rose 0.9 percent, below the 1.0 percent forecast, InvestingLive reported.
