Telecoms lag while technology leads
Deutsche Telekom was the weakest Euro Stoxx 50 constituent, down 7.0 percent, after SpaceX agreed to acquire a nationwide US low-band spectrum portfolio. Reuters said the deal raised competitive concerns for established telecom operators. Eni fell 0.9 percent.
SAP gained 3.7 percent and Siemens rose 2.6 percent, ranking among the strongest index members at midday, while adidas advanced 2.1 percent, according to finanzen.ch.

Canada's labor-force survey is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CEST, followed by the University of Michigan's preliminary October consumer-sentiment survey at 4:00 p.m. CEST. ECB Executive Board member Frank Elderson is also scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m. CEST, according to GGMA Markets Briefing.
