Ethereum price remains caught between weaker institutional flows and uncertainty around the network's next major upgrade. Investing.com displayed ETH/USD at 2,263.86 US dollars when checked on November 2, 2026. The page reported a 24-hour volume of 4.55 billion US dollars, a market capitalization of 276.03 billion US dollars and a rank of two among listed cryptocurrencies. These figures describe the readout at the time of access and are not presented as a UTC daily close.
ETF withdrawals remain the main flow signal
U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded 155.85 million US dollars in net outflows on October 30, according to Altcoin Buzz, citing SoSoValue data. The result extended the withdrawal streak to five consecutive trading sessions. Across October 26 to October 30, the funds recorded about 431.4 million US dollars of cumulative net outflows.
BlackRock's ETHA accounted for 76.64 million US dollars of the October 30 redemptions. The article also reported total net assets of about 13.22 billion US dollars across 11 funds and cumulative net inflows of approximately 12.29 billion US dollars since launch. Net outflows show money leaving the products, but they do not by themselves establish why investors reduced exposure or prove direct selling of Ether in the spot market.
Hoodi delay removes a near-term catalyst
The second issue is technical rather than operational for current holders. An Admirals analysis reported that developers postponed the Glamsterdam activation on the Hoodi testnet on October 22 after concerns about interactions between the EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 gas changes and existing smart contracts. The original October 26 activation passed without the fork, and no replacement date had been set in that report.
Admirals also reported that the Ethereum Foundation said mainnet users and Ether holders did not need to take action because the postponement affected a testnet. For investors, however, the delay makes the timing of the next hard fork less certain and removes a clearly dated catalyst from the near-term calendar.
What investors can monitor next
The immediate watch points are whether ETF redemptions continue, whether a new Hoodi schedule is announced and whether the security review produces changes to the affected proposals. The market data readout also showed a 52-week range of 1,507.60 to 3,916.08 US dollars and circulating supply of 122.18 million ETH, underscoring the distance between the current price and the recent annual high. Neither ETF flows nor the upgrade delay alone establishes the next price direction; together, they define a cautious short-term backdrop.
