Ethereum remains under pressure from mixed institutional signals. The Ethereum price was displayed at 2,254.40 USD on the live Investing.com page, which also showed a 24-hour trading volume of 4.61 billion USD, a market capitalization of 274.91 billion USD and a rank of two among listed cryptocurrencies.
ETF Flows Turn Negative Again
U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded net outflows of 110.50 million USD on October 22, reversing a 14.96 million USD inflow on October 21. TokenPost, citing SoSoValue data, reported that BlackRock's ETHA accounted for 75.45 million USD of withdrawals. BlackRock's ETHB lost 17.17 million USD, while Grayscale's ETH and ETHE recorded outflows of 10.69 million USD and 9.56 million USD, respectively. Fidelity's FETH was the only named fund with an inflow, attracting 2.37 million USD.
The figures do not indicate that every investor is leaving Ether exposure. TokenPost reported cumulative net inflows of 12.71 billion USD and total net assets of 14.57 billion USD across the funds after the October 22 session. The data therefore points to a recent withdrawal wave within a still sizable ETF market, rather than the disappearance of institutional participation.
Upgrade Delay Adds Uncertainty
A second issue is the timing of Ethereum's next development catalyst. A report published by Yahoo Finance's syndicated investing coverage said developers delayed a planned Glamsterdam upgrade test on the Hoodi network, originally scheduled for October 26. The delay followed a need to assess how a proposed change interacts with existing smart contracts. No new timetable was given in the cited report.
For investors, Ethereum price performance is therefore only one part of the near-term picture. ETF flows provide a measurable gauge of institutional positioning, while the Hoodi delay leaves uncertainty around the timing of network progress. Neither factor alone establishes a future direction, and ETF redemptions can reflect reallocations between products as well as outright reductions in Ether exposure.
What Investors Should Monitor
Attention is likely to remain on whether ETF outflows persist, whether fresh inflows return after the October 22 reversal and whether developers publish a new Hoodi testing schedule. The live Investing.com data also showed a 52-week range of 1,507.60 to 3,916.08 USD and circulating supply of 122.18 million ETH, underscoring the gap between the current quote and the year's extremes.
