- USDe was displayed at 1.000 USD at 13:54:19 Berlin time on November 3, 2026.
- Ethena reported approximately 8.8 million USD in unrealized Binance-related profit-and-loss exposure, compared with an excess reserve fund above 60 million USD.
- TokenPost reported that reserve calculations showed different collateralization results, leaving the basis of the protocol's more-than-101-percent claim unresolved.
Ethena USDe price remained close to the token's one-dollar target on November 3, as investors assessed the protocol's reported exposure to Binance. Investing.com displayed USDe at 1.000 USD at 13:54:19 Berlin time, with a 24-hour volume of 67.60 million USD and a market capitalization of 4.57 billion USD. The same page listed 4.58 billion USDe in circulation and a 52-week range of 0.997 to 1.002 USD.
Binance exposure remains the focus
Ethena disclosed on October 29 that its unrealized profit-and-loss exposure to Binance was approximately 8.8 million USD. In a TokenPost report published October 30, the protocol's figure was presented alongside an excess reserve fund of more than 60 million USD. The report also said Ethena described the exposure as unrealized rather than a confirmed loss.
The same report said Ethena's exchange-related collateral is held with off-exchange custodians. It reported that one October 30 reserve snapshot showed backing of 101.37 percent of supply, including the reserve fund, while another calculation showed a 100.62 percent collateralization ratio. TokenPost noted that the two calculations used different reserve and liability figures and were not reconciled. Ethena's statement that Chainlink and LlamaRisk had confirmed backing above 101 percent therefore remains dependent on the methodology and scope of the figures.
What the peg tells holders
The Ethena USDe price was still near its target despite the collateral discussion. The Market Periodical recorded a November 2 UTC close of 0.9993 USD, providing the relevant prior-day reference for the current quote. The difference is consistent with a stablecoin trading close to its intended value, rather than with the type of move that would make price performance the main story.
That stability does not remove the structural risk. A Crypto Briefing analysis explained that USDe uses delta-neutral hedging involving centralized trading venues, while off-exchange settlement arrangements are intended to keep collateral outside exchange custody. The arrangement can reduce direct custody exposure, but disruption at a major venue could still complicate hedging and settlement.
For holders, the current signal is therefore mixed but specific: the peg was holding, while the quality, timing and reconciliation of reserve information remain important monitoring points. Further disclosures about the Binance-related exposure and the reserve calculations would help determine how much protection the reported buffer provides.
