- DTCC launched its Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026, with the Canton Network among its two initial blockchain integrations.
- Twenty DTC participants signed access agreements, while the service initially supports tokenized representations of selected stocks, ETFs and U.S. Treasuries.
- Investing.com displayed Canton at USD 0.09660, with a market capitalization of USD 3.87 billion and 39.94 billion CC in circulation.
The Canton price is in focus after a major institutional infrastructure launch. The Depository Trust Company, a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), launched its DTCC Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026. According to the Canton Network, Canton is one of the two blockchain integrations available at launch, alongside DTCC's private Besu network.
DTCC creates a live use case
The service lets eligible participants create tokenized representations of securities held at DTC and deliver them to registered digital wallets. The underlying assets remain in the existing custody structure. The service is designed for stocks, exchange-traded funds and U.S. Treasury securities, while tokenized positions can move between registered wallets around the clock, subject to the applicable controls.
A report by Coinranking said 20 DTC participants had signed agreements to access the service. The named participants include J.P. Morgan, Citi, Morgan Stanley, Fidelity Investments, BNP Paribas and UBS. This expands Canton's institutional relevance, although access is limited to eligible firms and registered wallets.
Price and token economics
The Investing.com Canton page displayed CC at USD 0.09660 when read for this report. Its displayed comparison showed a decline of 4.38 percent, but the page did not provide a verified UTC day-close basis for October 30, so that percentage is not presented as a UTC daily change. The same page listed a market capitalization of USD 3.87 billion, 24-hour volume of 13.38 million, rank 25 and 39.94 billion CC in circulation.
The network's economic link to CC remains important but should not be overstated. Recent governance changes have focused on extending burn-and-reward mechanics to activity on dedicated synchronizers. The Canton Network's official announcement describes the DTCC launch and the broader institutional infrastructure, but it does not say that CC is a mandatory settlement asset for every transaction on the service.
What investors should watch
The launch provides a concrete adoption milestone rather than a guarantee of immediate token demand. Relevant follow-through would include the number of institutions that become active users, the volume of tokenized securities and the extent to which network activity generates CC fees or burns. The Canton price therefore remains dependent on both market conditions and evidence that institutional usage translates into sustained activity on the network.
