- DTCC launched its Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026, with the Canton Network and DTCC's private Besu network as initial integrations.
- Twenty DTC participants have signed agreements to access the service, which can convert eligible DTC-custodied securities into tokenized representations.
- Investing.com displayed CC at 0.09561 USD with a market capitalization of 3.82 billion USD when checked on November 3, 2026.
DTCC's launch of a tokenization service has put Canton back in the institutional digital-assets debate. The Depository Trust Company, a subsidiary of DTCC, launched the service on October 28, 2026. It currently connects to the Canton Network and DTCC's private Besu network, creating a live use case for infrastructure associated with Canton.
The announcement is significant because the service is designed to represent securities held at DTC in tokenized form. Eligible participants can convert positions between traditional and tokenized forms and deliver the resulting representations to digital wallets. DTCC says the tokenized securities retain the ownership rights, investor protections and economic entitlements of the underlying securities. The DTCC press release says 20 DTC participants have signed agreements to access the service, with more users to be onboarded over time.
What the launch means for CC
The Canton integration strengthens the network's institutional narrative, but it should not be treated as proof of direct demand for CC. DTCC is operating a multi-network model, and its participants can also use the private Besu environment. The launch therefore validates an institutional application on Canton, while the effect on token usage and value capture remains an open question for investors.
According to Investing.com, CC was displayed at 0.09561 USD at 07:36:06 when the page was checked on November 3, 2026. The same page showed a 24-hour volume of 19.37 million USD, a market capitalization of 3.82 billion USD and a circulating supply of 39.98 billion CC. Its displayed 52-week range was 0.08700 to 0.19496 USD.
Investor context
The Canton price is now exposed to two competing forces: greater visibility from a regulated-market infrastructure project and the uncertainty over how much of that activity requires the public token. Investors should distinguish the DTCC service's operational milestone from a confirmed change in CC demand. The market data cited above is a retrieved page reading, not a reconstructed UTC day-close comparison.
