- Lower oil prices and easing bond yields supported the rebound after Thursday's selloff.
- Deutsche Telekom fell 7.9 percent after SpaceX agreed to acquire a US spectrum portfolio.
- Porsche AG is scheduled for a third-quarter pre-close call on October 12, 2026.
The DAX closed at 25,087 points on October 9, 2026, gaining 1.1 percent as lower oil prices and easing bond yields helped European equities recover from Thursday's selloff, according to n-tv. The index had ended the previous session at 24,807 points.
Oil relief supports the rebound
European stocks benefited after oil prices eased on hopes that tensions in the Middle East could pause. Reuters said US President Donald Trump's statement that the United States would not attack Iran before next month's midterm elections reduced concerns about an energy-driven inflation shock. Euro-area bond yields also pulled back from multi-decade highs, Reuters reported.
Telekom shares lag
Deutsche Telekom was the DAX's clearest drag, falling 7.9 percent. The decline followed SpaceX's agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum portfolio in the United States, increasing competitive pressure on wireless operators. Deutsche Telekom owns 54 percent of T-Mobile US, which also fell in US trading, Reuters said.
The index's recovery restored the 25,000-point level, but the DAX still recorded a weekly decline after losses earlier in the week. The close stood below the 25,576-point level recorded on September 9, 2026, according to finanzen.ch.
What comes next
The next DAX session is on Monday, October 12, 2026. Porsche AG is scheduled to hold a third-quarter pre-close call, according to the Deutsche Boerse calendar.
