Circle's expansion plan comes alongside a USD 400 million acquisition of Tazapay and a USD 100 million strategic investment from Binance, according to Reuters. Tazapay operates payment infrastructure in emerging markets, while Binance agreed to promote USDC across its platform under a five-year arrangement. The report said USDC circulation rose 19 percent year over year to 73.3 billion USD in the second quarter of 2026.
The same report said Circle held roughly 25 percent of the global stablecoin market, while Tether held nearly 60 percent. Those figures describe the broader issuer market rather than the price of USDC, which is designed to track the U.S. dollar.
