CertiK reports 155 million USD in Q3 fees
CertiK said Canton ranked first in its comparison of third-quarter blockchain fees, with a daily median of 1.71 million USD on October 12. The figure measures recorded fee activity tied to network services rather than revenue earned by a company.
Fees on Canton are paid by burning CC, while new CC can be minted as rewards for applications and network operators. Altcoin Buzz reported on October 13 that the 155.36 million USD figure covers recorded fee-related token burns and excludes newly minted rewards. That distinction means the fee total does not by itself show the net change in circulating supply.
Meritz agreement targets Korean tokenization
Canton Foundation and South Korean financial firm Meritz Securities signed a memorandum of understanding on October 15 covering domestic financial-asset tokenization, institutional collateral and cross-border liquidity, according to Bitcoin.com News. Tokenization means representing an asset digitally on a blockchain.
The agreement is exploratory rather than a completed product. The report said the work will depend on South Korea's developing regulatory framework and whether institutional participants deploy the proposed infrastructure. That qualification is a material counterpoint to the partnership's stated scope on October 15.
CantonBFT moved 800+ nodes on October 10
Canton Network said on October 13 that more than 800 nodes had moved to CantonBFT, a Byzantine fault-tolerant ordering system that coordinates transaction order across the network. The network described the migration as having almost no downtime and as a foundation for higher throughput, according to Canton Network.
