The BSE Sensex closed at 73,710 points on October 21, losing 143 points or 0.2 percent. Brent crude rose to USD 110.15 per barrel, reviving concerns about imported inflation and corporate margins, The Tribune reported.
Information technology shares offered support, but selling in financial, auto and metal stocks kept the index lower. Eternal then released quarterly results after the close, reporting a 92.3 percent increase in net profit to INR 125 crore, below the INR 271 crore analyst estimate, Economic Times reported at 4:05 p.m. IST.
Why is the BSE Sensex down today?
