BNB removes 1.65 million tokens in the 37th burn
The quarterly Auto-Burn operation took place directly on BNB Smart Chain, the network used for BNB transactions. The burn left 131,512,085 BNB in total supply, according to Blockonomi. Auto-Burn uses BNB price and block production during the quarter to determine the amount removed, while a separate mechanism burns part of network gas fees.
The October 19, 2026 operation was the 37th quarterly event in the program. The long-term supply objective is 100 million BNB, and the burn operates separately from Binance's centralized exchange, according to Blockonomi. The same report said recent Lorentz and Maxwell upgrades changed block production speed and led to adjustments in the burn formula.
Stablecoin transfers concentrate 66.2 percent of value
A separate October 19, 2026 report from The Cryptonomist found that transfers of at least 10,000 USD represented 0.4 percent of stablecoin transfers but carried 66.2 percent of their value in the third quarter of 2026. Transfers below 100 USD accounted for 77.4 percent of activity, showing a wide gap between transaction frequency and transferred value.
The same report put the median network charge for a stablecoin transfer at 0.0068 USD. Monthly active addresses increased from 20.5 million in July 2026 to 22.7 million in September 2026, with 21.4 million across the quarter. These figures describe network activity rather than a direct measure of BNB demand.
