- The index rose 0.70% to 10,834.94 points at 13:00 Istanbul time on November 2, 2026.
- Banking and transportation shares supported the advance, while financial leasing and factoring stocks lagged.
- Investors were monitoring Turkish and global manufacturing data, falling oil prices, the US midterm elections and Turkey's inflation release due on November 3.
The BIST 100 was trading higher in the first half of Monday's session, recovering modestly after the sharp sell-off that ended October. At 13:00 Istanbul time, equivalent to 11:00 Berlin time, the benchmark stood at 10,834.94 points, up 75.38 points or 0.70% from Friday's close of 10,759.56.
The figures were reported by Canl? Gaste, citing Anadolu Agency. The index opened at 10,765.09 and moved between 10,626.34 and 10,845.33 during the first half of the session, leaving the market close to its intraday high at the reporting time.
Financial shares lead the rebound
Sector performance was mixed beneath the headline gain. The banking index advanced 2.35%, while the holding index rose 0.17%. Transportation was the strongest sector, gaining 3.81%, whereas financial leasing and factoring fell 4.02%, according to Ba?ka Gazete. The technology index was nearly unchanged, while the industrial index declined 0.96% and the services index gained 0.96%.
Market breadth remained restrained despite the index advance: 47 BIST 100 constituents were higher, 52 were lower and one was unchanged at midday. Total turnover reached 49.6 billion Turkish lira. The combination of a rising benchmark and negative breadth points to concentrated support rather than a broad-based advance.
Oil and the data calendar in focus
Lower oil prices, linked in the market report to optimism about US-Iran talks, supported risk appetite. However, concerns about the US election process and the profitability of artificial-intelligence investment kept sentiment cautious. Investors were also monitoring Turkish manufacturing PMI and weekly monetary and banking statistics, alongside manufacturing PMI releases abroad.
Garanti BBVA Securities identified 10,700 to 10,500 as technical support and 11,100 to 11,300 as resistance. Its November 2 market calendar also highlighted Turkey's October inflation release on November 3 and the US midterm elections as important near-term events.
For the remainder of the session, the midday advance leaves the BIST 100 below the 11,000 to 11,100 resistance area cited by market analysts. The index's ability to hold above the 10,700 support zone may therefore remain important for assessing whether Monday's move represents a broader stabilization or only a temporary rebound after October's losses.
