BIST 100 ends 0.4 percent higher as mining leads rebound

BIST 100 ended Friday, October 9, 2026, at 12,266 points, up 0.4 percent from the previous close as mining shares led the advance. Anadolu Agency reported that the index gained 0.43 percent to finish at 12,265.98 points.
1000 Yatirimlar Holding was the strongest BIST 100 performer, rising 9.1 percent, while Sabanci Holding dropped 5.9 percent, according to Investing.com.
Mining leads as the index finishes higher
The BIST 100 opened at 12,265 points after Thursday's 12,214-point close and traded between 12,208 and 12,332 points during Friday's session. The index gained 52.40 points, with total trading volume at 114.1 billion TRY, Borsanin Gundemi reported.
Mining was the strongest sector, while communications, chemicals, petroleum and plastics, and banking shares were among the weaker groups. Earlier in the session, ASTOR, EREGL and BIMAS supported the index, while TUPRS, Sabanci Holding and Koc Holding weighed on it, according to Hibya.
Market breadth stays positive
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by 491 to 136, with 17 shares unchanged at the close, Investing.com said. The close followed a 0.75 percent gain on Thursday, when the index finished at 12,214 points.
What comes next
Turkey's August retail-sales data are scheduled for release on October 12, 2026. The calendar lists monthly retail sales up 0.2 percent and annual retail sales up 10.4 percent as the latest readings, according to Trading Economics.
