ASML gained 0.9 percent after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang rejected concerns about financing problems at data-center company CoreWeave. Universal Music Group was the strongest AEX gainer, while BE Semiconductor Industries remained the weakest performer.
Why did the AEX reach a new record?
Chip stocks recovered after the previous session's selloff. ASML and ASMI advanced, while Besi fell 4.8 percent. The rebound followed comments from Nvidia's Jensen Huang that challenged concerns about AI financing, Upday reported.
Rising consumer goods, healthcare and telecommunications stocks also supported the index. Advancing shares outnumbered decliners 60 to 32, with 13 unchanged. The AEX volatility measure stood at 21.09, while Brent crude rose to USD 107.52, Investing.com said.
