Why did the AEX rise on October 27?

AEX breadth shows broad participation
Advancing stocks outnumbered declining stocks 62 to 29, while 12 ended unchanged. ASMI added 5.0 percent and Universal Music Group rose 4.1 percent. Relx fell 2.0 percent, Shell lost 1.6 percent and Philips declined 0.7 percent, according to Investing.com.
ASMI raises the semiconductor stakes
ASMI said fourth-quarter revenue should reach EUR 1.23 billion, with a 5 percent range at constant currencies. It also expects 2027 revenue above EUR 5.7 billion and authorized a EUR 300 million buyback, Tostrams reported.
