- Nine-month revenue rose 11.51 percent year over year to RMB 283.45 billion.
- Adjusted profit attributable to owners increased 63.63 percent to RMB 55.84 billion.
- New copper and lithium projects are advancing, while Zhunuo Copper Mine is expected to start production by the end of 2026.
Zijin Mining reported a sharp increase in earnings for the first nine months of 2026, extending a strong run for the Chinese gold, copper and lithium producer. The company published its third-quarter report on October 23 for the period ended September 30, while its investor-relations page lists the completion of the 2026 employee stock ownership plan transfer on October 29.
According to the Quartr earnings summary, revenue for the first three quarters reached RMB 283.45 billion, an increase of 11.51 percent from the year-earlier period. Net profit attributable to owners rose 51.93 percent to RMB 57.53 billion. Profit after excluding non-recurring items increased 63.63 percent to RMB 55.84 billion.
Higher prices support operating leverage
The earnings improvement reflected higher metal prices, stronger margins in mineral products, continued production capacity releases and cost control, the Quartr summary said. Operating cash flow climbed 61.74 percent to RMB 84.28 billion, giving the group greater internal funding capacity as it expands its project portfolio.
Third-quarter operating income was RMB 89.27 billion, up 3.22 percent year over year. Profit attributable to owners reached RMB 18.36 billion, an increase of 25.97 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. The quarterly figures also show that the pace of growth moderated from the first-half contribution, leaving metal prices, production volumes and cost inflation as key variables for the remainder of the year.
Projects add a longer-term growth path
The Quartr summary said Zhunuo Copper Mine is expected to start production by the end of 2026, while Xiongcun Copper Mine is targeted for the end of 2028. Lithium projects including Tres Quebradas, Lakkor Tso and Xiangyuan are ramping up. Incremental copper projects are also planned in phases as the company responds to slower expected growth in global copper supply.
The group completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in Chifeng Gold on October 22, according to the Zijin Mining investor-relations announcements. The transaction strengthens the gold portfolio, but its contribution to future results will depend on integration, mine performance and prevailing bullion prices.
Employee plan marks capital-allocation step
The same investor-relations page lists the October 29 announcement on completion of the non-trade transfer for the 2026 employee stock ownership scheme. The move gives investors an additional corporate-governance point to monitor alongside production growth and acquisitions. The scheme's eventual effect on retention and execution will depend on the performance conditions and the operating results delivered over the assessment period.
