- The company is repurchasing shares under a 2026 program capped at 500 million euros.
- Treasury shares are intended for capital reduction through cancellation.
- A third party is scheduled to execute further repurchases through December 28.
Wolters Kluwer reported on Thursday, November 5, that it had repurchased 499 ordinary shares between October 29 and November 4. The purchases cost 0.04 million euros at an average price of 85.06 euros per share, according to the Yahoo Finance release.
The transaction is part of the buyback program announced on February 25, 2026. Wolters Kluwer plans to repurchase up to 500 million euros of its own shares during the year. The latest weekly purchase therefore adds to an already substantial capital-return program rather than changing its overall scope.
Buyback builds on 2026 execution
Through November 4, the company had repurchased 3,888,500 shares in 2026 for a total consideration of 264.3 million euros. The average price across the year-to-date purchases was 67.97 euros per share. The weekly transaction price of 85.06 euros was therefore above the program's cumulative average, although the company gave no explanation for the difference in the release.
Wolters Kluwer said the repurchased shares are held as treasury shares and will be used for capital reduction through cancellation. That structure reduces the number of shares outstanding when the cancellation is completed, which can support per-share measures over time if operating performance is unchanged. The release does not specify a new cancellation date.
For the period from August 6 through December 28, the company has engaged a third party to execute a further 256 million euros of repurchases, subject to applicable law and the company's articles of association. The arrangement provides a continuing mechanism for purchases after the latest weekly report, while the program remains within its announced 2026 ceiling.
