Production and cash flow improve
Third-quarter petroleum and natural gas revenue reached CAD 2,411.5 million, compared with CAD 1,660.3 million a year earlier. Net income rose to CAD 326.4 million from CAD 204.2 million, while funds flow increased to CAD 1,173.1 million, or CAD 0.96 per share.
Production averaged 390,720 barrels of oil equivalent per day, including 237,252 barrels per day of crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids. Whitecap said faster cycle times allowed it to maintain activity through the fourth quarter rather than slow its capital program.
Higher guidance and shareholder returns
Whitecap raised its 2026 capital budget by about CAD 100 million to approximately CAD 2.2 billion. Average production guidance increased for the third time this year to 392,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with fourth-quarter production expected at 395,000 to 400,000 barrels per day.
The board also approved a roughly 1.5 percent increase in the monthly dividend to CAD 0.0617 per share, effective with the November dividend payable in December. Free funds flow reached CAD 1.9 billion during the first nine months, helping reduce net debt to CAD 2.1 billion at September 30.
2027 plan points to growth
For 2027, Whitecap approved a capital budget of CAD 2.4 billion to CAD 2.6 billion. The program is designed to deliver average production of 400,000 to 410,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with approximately 75 percent of capital allocated to the unconventional division.
