- Walmex lifted third-quarter revenue while profitability weakened under higher investment and operating costs.
- Mexico e-commerce net sales advanced 15.8%, with store-fulfilled sales up 20.8%.
- Management maintained its 2026 constant-currency sales-growth outlook at 3.5% to 4.5%.
Walmart de México y Centroamérica delivered stronger sales but weaker earnings in the July-to-September quarter, according to ESM Magazine. The report, published on November 2, said consolidated revenue rose 3.0% year over year to MXN 248.8 billion, while constant-currency growth reached 3.6%.
Digital sales offset softer profitability
Mexico revenue increased 3.1% to MXN 206.7 billion, while Central America grew 6.0% to MXN 42.1 billion. Mexico e-commerce net sales advanced 15.8%, supported by a 20.8% increase in store-fulfilled sales.
Consolidated EBITDA rose 0.4% to MXN 25.4 billion, but the EBITDA margin narrowed by 30 basis points to 10.2%. Quarterly net profit stood at MXN 11.0 billion, leaving the retailer with sales momentum but limited earnings conversion.
Management said it was encouraged by the early signs but not satisfied with the breadth of performance. The next phase will depend on whether digital expansion, price investments and productivity measures can improve operating leverage.
