U.S. Bancorp is facing a transition in senior risk management after Jodi L. Richard resigned as vice chair and chief risk officer effective immediately on October 23, 2026. The bank said Richard left to take a position at another publicly traded company and that her resignation was not related to a disagreement over the company's operations, policies or practices.
The change was set out in a U.S. Bancorp Form 8-K filing dated October 29. Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer Troy W. Remington will take on the chief risk officer role on an interim basis while U.S. Bancorp conducts a process to select and appoint a permanent successor.
Successor search shapes risk oversight
The appointment gives the bank continuity in its risk function but leaves the long-term leadership structure open. Remington combines responsibility for credit oversight with the interim enterprise risk role until the search is completed. The filing did not provide a timetable for naming a permanent chief risk officer.
