Adjusted net income reached EUR 388 million, compared with EUR 135 million in the prior-year period, according to Yahoo Finance in its transcript of the August 11, 2026 results call.
Profit floor moves higher
The first-half adjusted EBITDA result was 87.60 percent above EUR 379 million a year earlier. Adjusted net income rose 187.41 percent from EUR 135 million, giving the earnings recovery a broader base than a single segment improvement.
Uniper now expects adjusted EBITDA of EUR 1.1 billion to EUR 1.3 billion for fiscal year 2026, compared with a previous range of EUR 1.0 billion to EUR 1.3 billion. The lower end therefore increased 10.00 percent, while adjusted net income guidance moved to EUR 500 million to EUR 600 million from EUR 350 million to EUR 600 million, a 42.86 percent increase at the lower end.
Gas business offsets weaker generation
The portfolio still has clear internal differences. Green Generation adjusted EBITDA fell to EUR 302 million from EUR 420 million, a decline of 28.10 percent, while Flexible Generation declined to EUR 286 million from EUR 333 million, down 14.11 percent.
Greener Commodities provided the counterweight, with adjusted EBITDA of EUR 260 million after a prior-year loss of EUR 296 million. The earnings mix makes gas trading and commodity optimization central to the 2026 outlook, while hydro and generation performance remain exposed to operating conditions.
Data centers add a second growth path
Uniper is also assessing more than 10 power plant sites for data center projects, with three already at an advanced development stage, according to Yahoo Finance on August 11, 2026. Management said the projects would be reported within Flexible Generation, but earnings estimates are not yet part of the outlook.
The company plans EUR 5.0 billion of growth investment through 2030, with more than half directed toward Flexible Generation. Its first-half net cash position reached EUR 4.5 billion, supporting investment capacity while Germany considers the future ownership structure.
Next results carry the next checkpoint
Uniper's next quarterly results are scheduled for November 10, 2026, according to MarketScreener. That release should show whether the higher guidance floor is supported by continued commodity performance and improving generation results.
