TRATON's stronger orders and adjusted operating result in the first nine months of 2026 give the commercial-vehicle group a firmer operational backdrop, while new engine plans at its International business add a product-development focus. The stock traded at 31.71 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:06 CEST on Saturday, October 31, 0.22 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, October 30.

In its October 28 release, TRATON said incoming orders increased 25 percent year over year to 253,147 vehicles in the nine months ended September 30. Truck orders rose 28 percent to 206,861 vehicles, while unit sales increased 3 percent to 230,436 vehicles.

Sales revenue advanced 3 percent to 33.322 billion euros. Adjusted operating result climbed 13 percent to 2.311 billion euros, and adjusted operating return on sales improved to 6.9 percent from 6.3 percent a year earlier. TRATON attributed the improvement to stronger contributions from Vehicle Services and TRATON Financial Services as well as volume, pricing and product-mix effects.

North America Adds Operating Leverage

North American demand was a key part of the order recovery. The company reported a 105 percent increase in truck orders in the region during the first nine months, with demand for heavy-duty vehicles improving significantly.

Transport Topics reported on October 29 that International will offer customers a choice of two EPA 2027-compliant heavy-duty engines, with the first engines expected in the second quarter of 2027. International's third-quarter truck orders rose 43 percent year over year to 12,526 vehicles, according to the report.

TRATON kept its 2026 outlook unchanged. The group continues to target sales-revenue growth of 0 to 7 percent and an adjusted operating return on sales of 6.3 to 7.3 percent.
