- Tokyo Electron reported record first-half revenue and operating profit for the fiscal year ending March 2027.
- The company set its first full-year forecast as AI infrastructure demand supports semiconductor equipment spending.
- A share repurchase and revised dividend outlook strengthen the capital-return focus through March 2027.
Tokyo Electron reported a sharp expansion in first-half results on October 30, 2026, as demand for equipment used in AI servers and data centers supported the Japanese semiconductor supplier. Investing.com reported that revenue for the six months through September rose 41.3 percent year over year to 1.67 trillion yen. Operating income increased 67.2 percent to 506.78 billion yen, while net income attributable to shareholders climbed 56 percent to 376.93 billion yen.
The second quarter also set the tone for the period. Revenue rose 20.9 percent year over year to 588.50 billion yen, and attributable net income increased 26.7 percent to 104.78 billion yen. Tokyo Electron said the first-half performance exceeded its previous internal forecast, with revenue ahead by 2.9 percent, operating income by 10.6 percent and attributable net income by 8 percent.
New forecast raises delivery demands
Tokyo Electron issued its first full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027. The company expects revenue of 3.7 trillion yen, operating income of 1.169 trillion yen and attributable net income of 865 billion yen. The forecast reflects continued investment in semiconductor production equipment as customers expand infrastructure for AI computing.
The outlook sets a demanding execution test for the second half. Tokyo Electron must convert the strong order environment into deliveries, production and profit through March. Investors will therefore focus on whether customer spending remains broad enough to support the company forecast beyond the recent surge in AI-related investment.
Buyback adds capital-return support
The board approved a share repurchase of up to 150 billion yen between November 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. Tokyo Electron also revised its year-end dividend forecast to 108 yen per share after a five-for-one stock split took effect on October 1. On a pre-split basis, the expected year-end dividend is 540 yen per share, while the projected full-year dividend, including the interim payment, is 955 yen.
