Thomson Reuters reported stronger third-quarter revenue and updated its 2026 outlook on Tuesday, November 3, after the sale of a majority stake in its Global Print business. The company reported the results for the period ended September 30 in a Thomson Reuters release.

The real-time quote of Thomson Reuters stock traded at 106.75 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:00 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Revenue growth meets revised outlook

Revenue reached 1.833 billion US dollars, up 10% from the revised prior-year period. Organic revenue also grew 10%, with the combined Legal Professionals, Corporates and Tax, Audit & Accounting Professionals businesses contributing the same organic growth rate.

Adjusted earnings per share rose to 0.81 US dollars from 0.71 US dollars a year earlier, while IFRS diluted earnings per share fell to 0.78 US dollars from 0.94 US dollars. The difference reflects, among other factors, lower operating profit and the presentation of Global Print as discontinued operations.

AI investment shapes segment margins

Management highlighted customer engagement with the next generation of CoCounsel Legal and the launch of CoCounsel Tax, Audit & Accounting. Reuters revenue advanced 12% organically, supported by generative AI content licensing and higher agency and professional revenue.

The Legal Professionals adjusted EBITDA margin declined to 46.6% from 49.0% as technology and other costs increased. Across the company, adjusted EBITDA rose 10% to 651 million US dollars, while the margin eased to 35.5% from 35.8%.

Print sale changes the comparison

Thomson Reuters completed the sale of a 51% stake in Global Print to KKR-advised capital accounts on October 1 and retained 49% of the resulting Westbridge Print joint venture. The transaction generated approximately 500 million US dollars in gross proceeds and moves Global Print out of continuing operations.

On that continuing-operations basis, Thomson Reuters expects 2026 total revenue growth of approximately 9.5%, organic revenue growth of 8.5% to 9.0% and an adjusted EBITDA margin of approximately 39%. Fourth-quarter organic revenue growth is expected at approximately 8%, with an adjusted EBITDA margin of approximately 42%.
