Target is placing value-led gifting and digital discovery at the center of its holiday strategy, according to a company press release dated October 21, 2026. The retailer is offering more than 8,000 new gifts, with more than half exclusive to Target and thousands priced at USD 5 or less.
Value and exclusivity shape gifting
Target said most new holiday items are priced at USD 20 or less. The assortment includes cashmere starting at USD 25, pajamas from USD 10, festive decor from USD 5 and faux fur throws at USD 30, alongside toys, beauty products, food gifts and sports and wellness items.
The product mix supports Target's effort to combine style, design and value as shoppers look for affordable gifts with a more premium feel. Chief Executive Officer Michael Fiddelke said the holiday range reflects changes across the retailer and is intended to make shopping easier and more inspiring.
More than half of the new holiday assortment is exclusive to Target, giving the retailer a differentiated offer as it competes for seasonal spending. Chief Merchandising Officer Cara Sylvester said the company had combined established brands, emerging trends and products that customers would not find elsewhere.
AI moves into the shopping journey
Target is also introducing Ask Target, an AI-powered shopping assistant available in beta on Target.com and the Target app. The feature is designed to provide inspiration, narrow choices and help customers shop with greater confidence. Additional AI-powered features and a digital holiday kids catalog are part of the same discovery push.
The company plans a new Deal of the Day from November 1 through December 24. Early Black Friday offers are scheduled for November 5 to 7, followed by new limited-time promotions on weekends during the holiday season. Target's Academy of Giftology marketing campaign is set to launch in November.
