SUSS MicroTec reported record demand but weaker near-term delivery performance on Thursday, November 5, 2026. In its quarterly statement for the period ended September 30, the semiconductor equipment maker said third-quarter order intake reached 223.5 million euros and the order book rose to 600.6 million euros.
The results were published by finanzen.at at 07:30 CET/CEST on behalf of the company. The order book had a book-to-bill ratio of 2.1, while total order intake for the first nine months reached 633.5 million euros, according to the release.
Strong orders, delayed deliveries
Advanced Packaging remained the main growth driver, particularly coating systems used in AI chip module production. SUSS said a major Taiwanese outsourced semiconductor assembly and test customer expanded an existing order by approximately 50 million euros, while another customer placed large coating-equipment orders.
Revenue recognition was weaker in the quarter because supply-chain bottlenecks delayed selected tool deliveries. Third-quarter sales came to 97.0 million euros, and first-nine-month sales totaled 299.8 million euros. The first-nine-month gross margin was 37.0 percent, while the EBIT margin was 6.1 percent, compared with 15.2 percent in the prior-year period.
Guidance remains unchanged
Management kept its 2026 outlook at sales of 405 million euros to 425 million euros, a gross-margin range of 35 percent to 37 percent and an EBIT-margin range of 5 percent to 7 percent. The company expects some revenue to shift into fiscal 2027 as component constraints affect delivery timing.
SUSS is also relocating production activities from Garching to Zhubei in Taiwan and Sternenfels in Germany. One-time expenses are expected to total approximately 6.2 million euros, including around 4.5 million euros in 2026. The company said the measures are intended to strengthen capacity and supply-chain resilience ahead of expected growth.
