STRABAG enters Friday, November 6, 2026, with a stronger 2026 outlook and a record order backlog ahead of its next operating update. The construction group raised its targets after a solid first half, while management pointed to infrastructure demand in Germany and international markets as a key support.

Higher targets raise the next test
In its first-half earnings call on August 28, STRABAG said output volume reached 10 billion euros, an increase of 12 percent from the prior-year period. The order backlog climbed to a record 36 billion euros, up 27 percent year on year and 15 percent from the end of 2025, according to the Yahoo Finance transcript.
The backlog-to-output ratio reached 1.6 years, which management said provides visibility into activity well into 2028. First-half EBIT rose 35 percent to 174 million euros, while EBITDA increased 30 percent to 560 million euros. STRABAG cautioned that seasonal effects mean first-half EBIT is not representative of the expected full-year result.
Guidance depends on execution
Management lifted its 2026 output-volume guidance from around 22 billion euros to close to 23 billion euros. The EBIT margin target moved from 5 to 5.5 percent to 5.5 to 6 percent, while the ceiling for net investment remained at no more than 1.5 billion euros.
The company attributed the upgrade to continued backlog growth and stronger second-quarter activity. Infrastructure demand in Germany, rail and energy projects, and activity in international markets form the operating backdrop. The higher targets improve visibility for investors, but delivery, cost control and seasonal swings remain central to the investment case.
November statement sets timetable
STRABAG's investor-relations calendar lists a quiet period from November 5 through November 11, followed by the trading statement for January through September 2026 on November 12. The update should give investors a fresh view of order intake, backlog conversion and progress against the raised annual targets. The schedule and management's half-year message are available on the company's investor-relations page.
