Stanley Electric stock reports strong sales but weaker profit
Published on 10/06/2026 at 15:43 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSStanley Electric (ISIN JP3399400005) closed at JPY 3,482.00 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on October 2, 2026, down JPY 9.00 or 0.26 percent from JPY 3,491.00. The company reported FY2027 first-quarter revenue of JPY 145.9 billion, up 21.7 percent from the same quarter a year earlier, but net income attributable to owners fell 19.7 percent to JPY 4.14 billion, AInvest reported on September 19, 2026.
Revenue growth meets profit pressure
The first-quarter figures show a sharp split between sales and earnings. Operating profit increased 1.8 percent, while research and development expense rose 35 percent and capital spending increased 27.8 percent, according to AInvest.
That combination makes margin conversion the key issue for the vehicle-lighting specialist. Revenue advanced by more than one-fifth, yet the profit available to Stanley Electric shareholders moved in the opposite direction, indicating that higher spending and integration costs absorbed much of the top-line gain.
Full-year guidance sets a demanding hurdle
Management's guidance for the year ending March 2027 calls for net sales of JPY 622 billion, operating profit of JPY 55 billion and net income attributable to owners of JPY 34 billion. The targets imply growth of 20 percent, 28.9 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively, AInvest said.
The gap between operating-profit growth and net-income growth is the central investor question. Stanley Electric therefore needs stronger second-half profitability for the annual plan to translate into materially higher earnings for owners.
Analysts see upside above the market price
A U.S. securities firm kept its Equal-Weight rating on September 9, 2026, while raising its price target from JPY 3,750 to JPY 3,900, according to Yahoo Finance. The same report cited a consensus target of JPY 3,981 from 10 analysts.
Marketscreener lists an Outperform mean consensus from 10 analysts and an average target price of JPY 3,896.00, Marketscreener shows. The target is above the October 2 close, but the earnings trend still has to support that valuation view.
Stock remains below its yearly high
Stanley Electric stock closed at JPY 3,482.00 on October 2, 2026, with a session range of JPY 3,430.00 to JPY 3,498.00. The price was 8.42 percent below the 52-week high of JPY 3,802.00 and 26.80 percent above the 52-week low of JPY 2,746.00.
