- SSE is repurchasing shares to support its plan to cap scrip dividend take-up at 25% through 2029/30.
- Interim results for the six months ended September 30, 2026, are scheduled for November 18.
SSE plc said on Monday, November 2, 2026, that it had bought 324,149 ordinary shares between October 26 and October 28 as part of its GBP 105 million repurchase programme. The announcement was published through the company's share repurchase programme information.
The purchases take the programme total to 1,800,819 shares. SSE said the shares will be held in treasury. After settlement, the company expects 1,223,928,407 ordinary shares in issue, including 4,026,826 shares held in treasury, leaving 1,219,901,581 voting rights.
Buyback linked to dividend policy
SSE launched the programme on October 12 and plans to complete it no later than January 31, 2027. The company can repurchase up to 4,246,975 shares for a maximum consideration of GBP 105 million.
SSE says the buyback is intended to reduce share capital and support its commitment to cap scrip dividend take-up at 25% for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The policy forms part of the company's dividend plan through 2029/30.
Results are the next catalyst
