SpaceX announced an agreement covering up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band on October 8, 2026, according to an update published by SpaceX. The company said the spectrum would support Starlink Mobile's planned combination of satellite-to-mobile connectivity and terrestrial deployment, subject to final FCC approval.

SpaceX said the low-band spectrum would improve coverage through obstacles such as walls, while the Gen2 satellites are intended to provide higher bandwidth directly to unmodified devices. The company described the authorization as a step toward satellite-to-mobile connectivity.
