- Solvay's preliminary third-quarter figures reflect the effects of the Middle East conflict and a Saudi peroxide plant shutdown.
- Management will publish complete third-quarter results on Wednesday, November 4.
- The revised outlook excludes potential recovery measures from the Sadara joint venture for the rest of 2026.
Solvay enters Wednesday's full third-quarter release with investors focused on the financial impact of its Saudi joint venture and on whether contractual recovery mechanisms can offset part of the disruption. The Belgian chemicals group will publish complete Q3 2026 results on Wednesday, November 4.
In a Solvay press release dated October 19, the company reported preliminary underlying third-quarter net sales of 1.03 billion euros, underlying EBITDA of 173 million euros and free cash flow to Solvay shareholders from continuing operations of 54 million euros.
Saudi shutdown drives quarterly pressure
Solvay said the Middle East conflict reduced underlying EBITDA by approximately 25 million euros during the quarter, after an impact of about 20 million euros in the second quarter. The continued shutdown of the peroxide plant at the Sadara complex in Jubail accounted for close to 15 million euros of the third-quarter impact.
The Jubail operations are conducted through a joint venture with Sadara, which is majority-owned by Saudi Aramco. Solvay said the joint-venture framework contains mechanisms designed to recover lost profitability and that it is exploring available options to limit the shutdown's financial effect. The updated outlook does not include potential revenue or recovery measures from Sadara for the remainder of 2026.
Guidance reset leaves results in focus
Solvay now expects full-year underlying EBITDA of 720 million to 740 million euros. Its free cash flow outlook for continuing operations is 120 million to 150 million euros, net of approximately 90 million euros in transformation expenses. The company said it remains focused on cash generation, its transformation program and cost-saving targets.
Solvay stock traded at 23.82 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:00 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Solvay stock as the market awaits the completed quarter figures.
