Siemens is deepening discussions with Naver on industrial artificial intelligence, adding potential applications for digital twins, robotics and robot foundation models to the partnership agenda. The talks took place on October 31 at the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in Seoul and continued during a visit by Siemens executives to Naver's 1784 headquarters.

Seoul Economic Daily reported that Siemens Group Chairman Roland Busch and Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon discussed combining German engineering with Asian capabilities in semiconductors, AI models and digital platforms. Their focus covered manufacturing, energy and mobility, where industrial AI must operate safely and reliably in real-world environments.

What Has Changed Since The Last Report

The latest discussions add a more specific cooperation path than a broad strategic alignment. The companies reviewed examples of Naver digital twins already used at industrial sites and considered linking them with Siemens solutions for expansion into global markets. They also examined possible cooperation around Naver's robotics technology and robot foundation models.

Choi said industrial AI adoption must reach small and midsize companies and suppliers to improve productivity across entire industries. She also argued that companies should judge AI projects by whether they solve operational problems and redirect saved time and resources to more valuable work, rather than by the quality of AI-generated output alone.

The talks build on a June memorandum between Naver Cloud and Korea Siemens covering manufacturing solutions that combine Siemens industrial automation and digital-twin technology with Naver's AI and cloud infrastructure. The discussions do not by themselves establish additional Siemens revenue or earnings.
