Refining Strengthened Quarterly Earnings
Adjusted earnings reached 10.8 billion US dollars, while cash flow from operations came to 21 billion US dollars. Shell said its Integrated Gas business benefited from LNG trading and optimisation, while Chemicals and Products delivered strong results as refining performance improved.
The ARC Resources acquisition completed in September and adds 370,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of production. Shell also took a final investment decision on LNG Canada Phase 2, which is expected to double liquefaction capacity at the facility and add nearly 6 million tonnes per year of LNG volumes attributable to Shell.
Buyback Sets Near-Term Focus
Shell announced a further 5 billion US dollar share buyback programme and expects to complete it by the announcement of fourth-quarter results. Management maintained its policy of returning 40 to 50 percent of cash flow from operations through the cycle.
The 2026 cash capital expenditure range is now 23 billion to 25 billion US dollars, including about 4 billion US dollars related to ARC Resources. The next strategic update is scheduled for February 4, 2027, alongside Shell's fourth-quarter 2026 results.
