Sai Gon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock estimated pre-tax profit of VND 14.3 trillion for the first nine months of 2026, up 17 percent from the same period a year earlier. Vietnam.vn reported that the figures were presented at SHB's investor conference held on October 15, 2026.
Three milestones shape the update
On October 12, 2026, SHB announced a loan agreement coordinated by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation with an initial amount of USD 340 million and a three-year term, according to Vietnam News. On October 15, the bank said it had completed an additional issuance of 750 million shares, lifting charter capital above VND 53.4 trillion.
Also on October 15, the investor conference put the nine-month profit estimate at VND 14.3 trillion, equal to 81 percent of the 2026 full-year plan. Total assets were estimated at VND 993.5 trillion as of September 30, 2026, up 11.4 percent from the end of 2025.
What does 17 percent growth change?
The earnings figure gives investors a measurable read-through on SHB's plan execution. Operating income for the first nine months was estimated at VND 26.3 trillion, up 16 percent year over year, while non-interest income was expected to contribute nearly 30 percent of the total, according to Vietnam News.
The balance-sheet expansion also carries a capital and risk-management angle. SHB estimated market deposits at VND 720.8 trillion and outstanding credit at VND 678.5 trillion as of September 30, 2026, while return on equity was 25.9 percent and the cost-to-income ratio was 19.2 percent.
Dividend timing adds a second date
SHB's 2026 annual meeting approved a 16 percent dividend for 2025, split between 10 percent in shares and 6 percent in cash. Vietnam Finance said the cash payment is expected in November 2026, while the share distribution is planned for 2026.
Assets approach VND 1 trillion
SHB's estimated assets of VND 993.5 trillion at September 30, 2026 put scale alongside earnings as the central investor measure. The bank also expects to recognize profit in the fourth quarter from the completed transfer of its remaining SHBFinance stake to Krungsri, according to Vietnam.vn.
