ServiceNow stock is moving higher after management lifted its AI contract target again. Strong subscription growth keeps execution in focus.

Growth Holds, Execution Bar Rises

  • ServiceNow raised its 2026 AI annual contract value target to 1.7 billion US dollars.
  • Management lifted the full-year free cash flow margin outlook to 36 percent.
  • Fourth-quarter guidance puts current remaining performance obligation growth at 18.5 percent.

ServiceNow reported strong third-quarter operating growth on October 28, but the higher targets also raise the bar for execution. Subscription revenue increased 21 percent year over year to 3.988 billion US dollars for the quarter ended September 30, according to the ServiceNow investor release.

AI Momentum Meets Higher Expectations

ServiceNow lifted its 2026 AI annual contract value target to 1.7 billion US dollars, 70 percent above the target set at the start of the year. Management said production consumption of agentic AI had increased more than 13 times year over year, while AI net new annual contract value exceeded expectations.

Total revenue reached 4.106 billion US dollars, up 20.5 percent year over year. Current remaining performance obligations rose 20.5 percent to 13.65 billion US dollars, giving investors a strong contracted-revenue base but also making the next growth reading important.

Guidance Improves, Backlog Pace Slows

ServiceNow raised its full-year subscription-revenue outlook to 15.780 billion to 15.790 billion US dollars and increased its free cash flow margin target to 36 percent. For the fourth quarter, management expects subscription revenue of 4.245 billion to 4.255 billion US dollars and current remaining performance obligation growth of 18.5 percent.

The combination leaves the investment case balanced: subscription demand remains strong, while the slower forward backlog pace and the need to convert AI experimentation into production workloads increase the importance of execution.
