SDAX closes 0.37 percent lower after late-session retreat

Drivers of the day
Lower energy prices and easing government bond yields supported European equities. Reuters reported that Brent crude fell to USD 99.91 a barrel, while the German 10-year yield declined 5 basis points to 3.44 percent. The French 10-year yield fell 9 basis points to 4.77 percent.
The SDAX had traded as high as 18,447.11 points at midday after opening at 18,240.24 points, according to finanzen.ch.
Index adjustment
SGL Carbon entered the SDAX on October 6, replacing Wuestenrot & Wuerttembergische. The adjustment took effect at the start of trading, as Deutsche Boerse said in its weekly outlook.
What is ahead
Germany is scheduled to publish August industrial production at 8:00 a.m. CEST on October 7. The forecast is for a 1.4 percent monthly increase after a 1.1 percent decline in July, according to Finobird. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to release minutes from its September meeting at 8:00 p.m. CEST, as noted by Admiral Markets.
