- Kioxia's outlook raises a new test for Sandisk's flash pricing power.
- Long-term agreements cover about half of fiscal 2027 bits and two-thirds of fiscal 2028 bits.
- Analyst views diverge as Wedbush keeps a bullish target while other firms turn more cautious.
Sandisk faces a fresh test for its earnings momentum after manufacturing partner Kioxia warned that the sharp rise in flash prices is losing pace. The warning adds a new risk dimension to the company's strong fiscal first-quarter performance and second-quarter outlook.
Sandisk stock traded at 1,005.00 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 5:11 p.m. CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Sandisk stock.
Pricing Becomes the Central Test
In a report published on Tuesday, Yahoo Finance said Kioxia's December-quarter operating-profit outlook fell short of analyst expectations and followed a sharp slowdown in its NAND price gains. The report said pricing contributed less to Sandisk's latest sequential growth than in the previous quarter, while Chief Financial Officer Luis Visoso described further price increases as modest.
That puts greater focus on volume growth and contract protection. Sandisk's long-term agreements with customers include price floors and cover about half of fiscal 2027 bits and two-thirds of fiscal 2028 bits, according to the report. Those commitments can support production visibility, but falling prices would still pressure the company's unusually high margins.
Analysts Split Over the Cycle
Wedbush retained an Outperform rating and a 2,000 US-dollar target in the Yahoo Finance report. Wells Fargo cut its target to 1,300 US dollars from 1,550 US dollars, while Fox Advisors moved to Equal-Weight. The divergence reflects different assumptions about how long data-center demand and contracted volumes can offset a slower memory-price cycle.
Sandisk's fiscal first-quarter revenue rose sequentially to 11.0 billion US dollars, while management guided fiscal second-quarter revenue to 12.2 billion to 12.6 billion US dollars and non-GAAP diluted earnings to 55 to 57 US dollars per share before the planned split. The company has also announced an eight-for-one forward split, with split-adjusted trading expected to begin on November 20.
For investors, the next major operating test is whether Sandisk can maintain its margin profile as pricing momentum moderates. The fiscal second-quarter report, expected in late January, should provide the next evidence.
