- Saab will deliver and integrate sensors and combat systems for four Swedish FDI frigates.
- The package combines radar, weapons and fire-control capabilities in one multi-year program.
- Deliveries are scheduled from 2027 through 2034, keeping execution and capacity in focus.
Saab said on Friday, November 6, that it had signed an agreement with France's Naval Group to deliver and integrate fire-control systems and sensors for four FDI frigates ordered by Sweden. Ad-hoc-news reported the agreement and its planned delivery schedule.
Naval package spans radar and weapons
The contract covers fire-control systems, the RBS15 anti-ship missile, torpedoes, the Trackfire weapon station and the Sea Giraffe 1X radar. Saab's Naval business area therefore gains exposure to several parts of the frigates' combat and sensor architecture.
Deliveries are scheduled from 2027 to 2034. For investors, the long timetable spreads execution across several years, while the breadth of the package links future activity to sensors, weapons and combat-management functions.
Capacity remains the next test
Saab's order backlog stood at SEK 364 billion on September 30, 2026, according to the company's investor-relations information. The frigate program adds another multi-year delivery stream to a business already responding to strong defense demand.
