- Rolls-Royce is presenting a combined naval propulsion portfolio at Euronaval in Paris.
- The company is due to publish its next trading update on November 12.
Rolls-Royce presented its naval propulsion portfolio at Euronaval 2026 in Paris on Tuesday, November 3, highlighting mtu diesel engines, the MT30 gas turbine and mtu NautIQ automation systems. The company's press release said the event runs from November 3 to November 6 and focuses on matching propulsion and electrical power to individual vessel requirements.
Portfolio targets naval demand
Rolls-Royce is combining combustion engines, gas turbines and automation in a single offering for naval platforms. The MT30 is designed, assembled and tested in Bristol and is used on advanced naval vessels, while the mtu portfolio covers propulsion, power generation and control systems.
The group also highlighted autonomous naval operations. The company said the U.S. Navy has certified its mtu Series 4000 and Series 2000 marine diesel engines for autonomous vessel operations. The certification supports deployments of up to 30 days at sea without human intervention, preventive maintenance or repairs, according to Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce said the mtu Series 1163 will mark 50 years of naval service in 2026 and that more than 1,000 units have been delivered, almost all for naval vessels. Its mtu NautIQ Foresight system provides continuous monitoring of technical equipment on board.
Stock tracks above Xetra close
Rolls-Royce stock traded at EUR 15.39 on Lang & Schwarz at 11:16 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2.39% above the Xetra close of Tuesday, November 3. The move places the shares near the upper end of their current trading range, while investors await the group's next scheduled trading update.
For investors, the naval showcase underlines Rolls-Royce's exposure beyond commercial aviation. The presentation does not by itself indicate new orders or a change to earnings guidance, but it keeps defence and marine propulsion in view ahead of the company's next operating update.
