- Randstad reported 3.9 percent organic revenue growth in the third quarter.
- Underlying EBITA increased to 211 million euros, lifting the margin to 3.5 percent.
- Management said 75 percent of the business was in growth and October trends were improving.
Randstad reported stronger profitability in the third quarter ended September 30, with organic revenue growth accelerating to 3.9 percent. The staffing group released the figures on October 21, and said activity improved through the quarter and again in early October. The company linked the progress to its Partner for Talent strategy, specialization and delivery excellence in a Randstad release.
Third-quarter revenue reached 6.115 billion euros. Underlying EBITA rose to 211 million euros, up from 191 million euros a year earlier, while the underlying EBITA margin improved to 3.5 percent from 3.3 percent. Operating profit was 177 million euros and net income was 110 million euros.
Growth Broadens Across Key Markets
Management said 75 percent of Randstad's business was now in growth. The company highlighted stronger momentum in its operational and enterprise activities, while its four specializations - Operational, Professional, Digital and Enterprise - remain central to the recovery plan.
The improvement was not uniform across the business. Randstad's underlying gross margin stood at 17.8 percent, below 18.4 percent in the prior-year quarter. Operating expenses were 878 million euros, broadly stable year over year before integration costs and one-offs. The figures show that higher profitability depended on revenue recovery and cost discipline while gross-margin pressure persisted.
AI Rollout Targets Productivity
Chief Executive Sander van 't Noordende said digital marketplaces combined with agentic AI were helping teams reduce friction and cost to serve. Randstad is using the technology across staffing operations, with the stated goal of improving productivity and supporting long-term profitability as demand recovers.
Management also pointed to improving October trends and said the group was positioned to make further progress. For the fourth quarter, Randstad expects its gross margin to remain broadly stable compared with the third quarter. That outlook leaves the pace of staffing demand and the conversion of revenue growth into EBITA as key issues for investors.
